Most people growing up are told that they need to go to school and get a college degree so they can get a "good" job and work the rest of their life for someone else.

But why is this so great? Did you know that the average college graduate never enters the field in which he/she majored in and changes jobs on average 11 times during their working lifetime? Not only that, most college graduates enter the work force deeply in debt (from college loans) the second they get their degree. So right off the bat they're in deeply in debt and have to work for years just to break even.

What's more... unless you're highly skilled in a technical field, chances are you don't make over $100K per year. And in most cases far less... even with a college degree.

Now I'm not anti-education or even anti-college. But for most part our educational system only teaches us so we can go to work for someone else. They don't teach people how to be successful entrepreneurs, leaders and investors.

Another route that some people follow is opening up their own brick and mortar (offline) business. As anyone familiar with the statistics on the failure rate of businesses in this country will tell you, it's a sure way to time and money lost.

Q. - How can you give away the OSI System for free?

A. - My philosophy is simple and can be summed up with something Zig Ziglar once said; "If you help enough people get what they want, they will help you get what you want." Too many times what you see on the Internet are programs or products designed to benefit the seller with no concern for the end user, or customer. By the time you spend money to join a program and market it... you're broke and out of business. Some people have enough investment capital to last long enough to make a profit, but there are tens of thousands (if not millions) of people that don't have that kind of money. And it's those tens of thousands that I wanted to target so they would have a legitimate chance to earn a self-sustaining income without going broke in the process. So I decided to give away the system so they could gradually build a business first, then use a portion of their profits to self-finance the rest of their business and earn a great income at the same time.

Q. - Would You Explain Again How the One Step 4 Income System Works?

A. - One Step 4 Income is a "feeder" system (or downline builder) that costs you nothing. After you join, you are provided with a marketing plan, a personal ID number, a personal URL, pre-written email messages to market your system, a back office, a downline builder, a member forum and complete support.

The marketing plan takes you step-by-step and shows you how to market your system for free using pre-written email messages and ads. Once you have sponsored 5 new active members, you will join the core-business (first) in the system. If you sponsor 5 active members who sponsor 5 active members each, you would already have 30 members in your organization and be well on your way to earning over $100,000 in a very short period of time.

Q. - If I get the OSI System free, how do I make money?

A. - Everyone has the opportunity to earn multiple streams of gradually increasing commissions. There are 7 independent businesses in the system. Each business also doubles as an income opportunity. You join each business separately one-at-a-time as you earn a profit from the business previous to it. You start with the least expensive business and gradually join more expensive businesses as you move through the system. Each business that you join costs slightly more than the one previous to it, but pays out higher commissions as well. By the time you get to the last 3 businesses in the system, you will be earning $500 to $3,000 commissions on every member from your organization that joins them after you. So it doesn't take a large organization to earn a very substantial income. In fact, you can earn over $100,000 if less than 25 members follow you into all 7 businesses. To earn that much money with a typical MLM or Affiliate program you would have to make thousands of sales.

Q. - How can One Step 4 Income leverage so much money with so few people?

A. - Easy... OSI leverages the businesses in the system as well as any products that they offer. The system is set up so members can move seamlessly through the system with very little effort. All it takes is an initial effort to sponsor 5 active members. Active members are those who actively promote the system. Inactive members are deleted from the program so as not to hold up the progress of the active members. Q. - I've Been Promoting Like Crazy and Can't Seem to Refer Anyone... Any Suggestions?

With that said... here are some suggestions:

1. - Make sure your website has your name and ID# listed above the "join now" button at the bottom of the page.
2. - Use different headlines. That's what gets people curious enough to open your message. The headline is the MOST IMPORTANT part of your message!
3. - Track your messages so you know what kind of click through rates you're getting. NPN has a tracking tool you can use once you're a member.
4. - Switch messages around and make sure your headlines match the letters you use.
5. - Use headlines that you would click on. How about the headline that got you to click on the message that brought you to OSI?
6. - Vary the times of day you promote. If you've been promoting in the morning, start promoting in the evening, etc..
7. - Go to the member forum and find out what is working for other members, they can be very helpful.
8. - If you only send to 4 Safelists a day, up it to 8 or more Safelists a day. Send to as many email addresses as possible each day.
9. - NEVER sell. Give away the system. people don't like to be sold. When OSI officially launched in February 2007, I had 0 members and just myself promoting. Four months later, we topped 1,000 members. A week after that we had over 1,500 registered members. We now average 40 to 60 new members every day. So the plan is obviously working.
10. - Join and send your messages to the Safelists in the Safelist Directory. There are more than 4,500 to choose from. Send to the lists that have the most members.
11. - Join Traffic Hoopla and send to the 20 Safelists they rate as the most responsive. Here's the link: TrafficHoopla!
12. - Keep in mind the season and time differences around the world. When it's summer in the northern hemisphere, it's winter in the southern hemisphere. OSI has members from every continent around the world. When it's summer the weather is nice and people are outside longer. With exception to Australia, your major market is going to be the US, Canada and Europe.

Traditionally, fall is the busiest time for people seeking opportunities to join. Remember that when you're promoting. If you don't sign anyone up in your first week or two - keep at it, eventually you'll still refer 5 (some will sponsor far more) within your first 30 days, so don't worry. But if you quit, you'll never sponsor anyone.

Q. - Why aren't there fancy videos, audios, pictures or graphics on your website?

A. - I'm a firm believer of substance over hype. This is a serious opportunity for serious wealth builders. I could have easily built this site to look like a car commercial, but that's not what I'm about, nor is it what One Step 4 Income is about. I'm not into deception. What you see is what you get and I'm not afraid to show you all the details of the program. In fact, I'm proud to do so. Another reason I avoided video and audio was because there are far more people that don't have access to cable. If you are using dial up, you know how frustrating it can be having to wait while a video or audio file loads. By eliminating these features, we made the OSI System more user friendly. Now that's not to say in the future we won't add video and/or audio, it's just that for now we wanted to give as many people as possible access to the OSI System in the shortest amount of time.

Nov. 27, 2007 - If you've been reading one or both of my lenses, you'll know that OSI was designed for those with little or no money, using the free marketing tools, strategies and techniques. I've decided to transition myself away from that aspect of promoting and start paying for advertising.

The first plan in my promotional campaign is something called Guaranteed Sign Ups from TRAFFIC FOR LESS. I believe them to be a reputable company because they offer no incentives to anyone for signing up. I bought 100 sign ups for $140, so we'll see how it goes.

In my opinion, it pays to have more than one vehicle for advertising, as long as you know what's working and what's not. The next item on my list will be an autoresponder and email leads. I read somewhere on the Internet that that's how some of these marketing "gurus" established their opt-in list, by blasting away with tens of thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of email ads.

Which brings me to my last point before signing off for today. The reason why network marketing (MLM) has had a 95% failure rate in the past, is the wrong approach to the marketing aspect of it. The many companies would train you to market your "business opportunity" to any one and everyone. WRONG!

Think about this for a moment. If you have a car to sell, you wouldn't market it to people who are looking for refrigerators, would you? You'd be looking for someone who wants to buy a car.

Same way with network marketing. You're looking for someone who wants to start their own business. Not your uncle Dale who drives trucks and has no intention of changing careers.

As journeys don't always follow a direct path, you will inevitably face some bumps and detours along the way.

If you were to take a holiday to a destination that you had to drive hundreds of miles... would you plan your route or just get in your car and start driving? You'd plan your route.

But what if along your planned route there was some road work that you couldn't get past? Would you turn around and go home, or would you find another way around that detour?

If you decided not to quit and go home, you would find another route wouldn't you? It may take you a little longer to get to your destination, but it would be worth it once you arrived.

Building a business and income is exactly the same as driving to a destination. You are going to have detours along the way. You have to decide if you're going to quit, or if you're going to find another way to get to your destination.
